Mary Catherine earned an MAT in Art Education and a BFA (concentration in painting and drawing) in Studio Art from the University of South Carolina. Currently she teaches Advanced Placement Art, Talented and Gifted Art, PCA 2 (2D Design), Advanced 2D Design and Art 1. Her work has been exhibited in the Bus Stop Gallery, the Art Garage Gallery, Lipscomb Gallery, USC Garnet and Black Publications, and the SC State Fair, where she was a 2004 State Fair Award Winner. She recently furthered her education by completing SC State’s Advanced Placement Certification program, Curriculum Leadership in the Arts program and intensive studio work at the Governor’s School for the Arts. Her students have exhibited their work in highly recognized galleries, won many local and state-wide awards, and have provided continuing community service.
