JoAnna Chriswell, Theatre Teacher, Photo.JoAnna Chriswell holds her B.F.A. in Theatre Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi. Before beginning her career at Richland Northeast, she worked as an actor, singer and acting coach throughout Mississippi. In 2005, JoAnna spent a summer of intensive theatre study at King's College in London, England. In addition to acting she has extensive training in Musical Theatre, Voice and Dialects. JoAnna teaches Exploring Drama, Acting I, PCA Scene Study, PCA Periods and Styles, and PCA Stagecraft. During the summer of 2007 she served on the theatre faulty of the TriDistrict Arts Consortium. She is also a member of the South Carolina Theatre Association, Mississippi Theatre Association and the International Thespian Society. JoAnna most recently directed PCA’s annual musical revue which was presented in collaboration with Columbia’s historic Town Theatre. Some of her favorite acting roles include The Countess in Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Sheila Franklin in Hair, and Sue in Fefu and her Friends.
