Donna Wilson serves as the Magnet Director of the Palmetto Center for the Arts and teaches theatre. Ms. Wilson earned an MFA in directing and an MAT in Theatre Arts from the University of South Carolina. She is a National Board Certified Teache, a Richland Northeast High School’s 2001-2002 Teacher of the Year and a District Honor Roll Teacher of the Year. She is also the recipient of the Outstanding Theatre Educator Award for 2000 presented by the South Carolina Theatre Association (SCTA), and was named 1993 “South Carolina Speech Educator of the Year” by the South Carolina Speech Communication Association (SCSCA). Her directing credits include two main stage productions for the International Thespian Conference at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, as well as numerous community theatre productions. Her Richland Northeast theatre program, winner of many 1st place awards and superior ratings, was selected 3 times (1998, 2002, and 2004) to represent the USA as part of the American High School Theatre contingent at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the world’s largest celebration of the arts, in Edinburgh, Scotland.
